So, let’s get my shame out of the way first:
Justin Bieber: I know, I know. I judge myself every time I pull his album up on Tidal. In my defense, Purpose is a great album! I will admit that I got curious about it because of Justin’s shady ass song, Love Yourself. I’m here for all the shade! Um…does claiming that I like the song because of the amazing beat make me seem like less of an ass?
The Read: I got turned on to The Read about a year ago by my roommate and I’ve been a loyal listener ever since. Before Justin, I was getting my shade fix at least once a week from the banter between Crissle and Kid Fury. These two are absolutely hilarious and I’m here for it! I’ve been fortunate to see Kid Fury at his first stand up in January and The Read Live! two weeks ago. This one makes the list now because, before the live show, I went back to the very first episode and listened to the entire show over the course of 2.5 weeks. A little side note, if you’re not a fan of celebrity talk, social issues (racism, LGBT rights, feminism, etc.), and a whole lot of profanity, please stay away from this one.
Queen Bey Slaying: Listen, I am not a part of the Bey Hive. I’d even be lying if I said that I was a hardcore fan of Beyonce’s. I love her music, I love her, and I love her family. But I’m not one to follow her, to buy her albums immediately, or to insist that every single one of her songs are magic. But the woman is talented! This new Formation song got me screaming “Yassss, Beyonce!” and I hate when people say shit like that. I think it’s hilarious that this video is so controversial. Keep on slaying Bey!
